Tobias Kretz

studied physics at Karlsruhe University from 1998 until July 2003.
From October 2003 until June 2007 he was part of the group "Physics of Transport and Traffic" of Prof. Schreckenberg  in Duisburg, where he finished his PhD thesis in February 2007. Since July 2007 he is product manager for the simulation of pedestrian crowds at the PTV AG in Karlsruhe.

Since 2005 PhD student at the group "Institute for Building Material Technology and Fire Safety Science" of Prof. Klingsch in Wuppertal. Interests in different kind of simulations, especially fire, smoke and evacuation.

Andreas Schadschneider

is Professor at the Institute of Theoretical Physics at Cologne University. He studied physics at Cologne University and received his PhD in 1991. His main research interest are all kinds of transport phenomena ranging from vehicular traffic and pedestrian dynamics to biological systems, e.g. intracellular transport.
